The Bedford County School of Practical Nursing offers an 18-month comprehensive program designed to prepare students for a successful career in healthcare as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
The program follows the Bedford County Public Schools calendar and is delivered in two phases:
Year 1: Nine months of classroom instruction at SGSTC
Year 2: Nine months of combined classroom learning and clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities
Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam and obtain licensure to practice as LPNs.
Clinical Learning Experiences
Students participate in supervised, hands-on learning in the following areas:
Fundamentals of Nursing,
Pharmacology,
Medical-Surgical,
Emergency,
Mental Health,
Maternal and Newborn,
Pediatrics,
Geriatrics,
Long-Term,
Community, and
Primary Clinic care.
Note: Criminal background check and drug screening are required before clinical placements.
