Tuition and Costs
What is the tuition for BCSPN?
Bedford County residents: $4,700 per year
Out-of-county residents: $5,000 per year
Tuition may be divided into two payments, due:
Fall Semester: August 19, 2026
Spring Semester: January 5, 2027
High school students enrolled in Practical Nursing I attend at no cost.

Students should plan for the following additional expenses:
Uniforms (estimated $200+, depending on size and quantity)
Stethoscope
Clinical shoes
Computer/laptop
Annual Flu Vaccine
Annual Tuberculosis (TB) Screening
BLS Certification (must remain current throughout the program)
FieldPrint background screening for clinical rotations (approximately $35–$40)
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?
No. BCSPN does not offer scholarships or financial aid. Students are responsible for securing their own funding.

Are there prerequisites?
No prerequisites are required.
When can I apply?
Applications open on August 19, 2026 (the first day of Bedford County Public Schools) and close on December 4, 2026. No late applications or paperwork will be accepted.
Application Fee:
Adults: $120 non-refundable application fee
High school students: No application fee
Payment may be made online or by check/money order payable to SGSTC.

TEAS Exam
All applicants must take the TEAS Exam at Susie G. Gibson Science and Technology Center in January 2027. Students must complete testing at BCSPN even if they previously completed TEAS elsewhere.

Practical Nursing I
Class Schedule:
Monday–Friday
9:05 AM – 11:15 AM
Spring Clinical Rotations
Minimum of 40 clinical hours
Medical-surgical hospital setting
Clinical Hours: 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Clinical dates are provided during the Fall semester.
Practical Nursing II
Class Schedule:
Monday–Friday
9:15 AM – 1:30 PM
Clinical Rotations
Hours vary by site and may include:
6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Clinical schedules are provided in advance.
